Brentwood Hockey Club is launching a series of Walking Hockey pilot sessions from February 2026.
Walking Hockey is a non-contact, slower-paced version of the game designed for older players, returning ex-players, players coming back from injury, or indeed anyone who loves hockey but would benefit from a lower-impact version of the sport.
What to expect:
– Walking only (no running), small pitch, small goals, regular sticks and a custom (slightly larger, slightly lighter) ball that consequently, does more of the work for us.
– Mixed gender, multi-age group, mixed ability and inclusive
– Emphasis on enjoyment, ability appropriate fitness, and connection
– Open to club members and non-members
When: Tuesday evenings - from 24 February at Brentwood School (subject to pitch confirmation)
Cost:
– BHC Club members: £2 per session
– Non-members: £6 per session
The initial six sessions will run as a trial, with the aim of becoming cost-neutral and sustainable if interest is there.
