First loss of the season for the L4s under some trying conditions. East London turned up - with subs and average age of the team about 22!!!! Soon after the start, defending a short corner, Lucy took a hefty hit to the shin/ankle, just below the shinpad. Ouchh! One icepack down, a couple more to go. Notwithstanding, we scored the first goal with a very well worked corner. Well done Vicky from a lovely little side slip from Mandy. Play was fairly even until just before half time when we unfortunately let in a goal. Second half underway, and again fairly even play until half way through Lucy took an even bigger hit to the face. Ouuchhhhhhhhhhh. Lovely gash above the eye, bruised cheek and blood everywhere! By the time Em and Hayley had patched her up the three of them looked like Halloween had come early. Down to 10, and despite some valiant play and defending from the team over the last 15 minutes we let in another goal. Well done ladies, and time to get your breath back before next week. Man of the Match this week was Lucy. Small recompense for the hours in A&E and the stitches, though :-(.
