Another successful tournament for the Brentwood Buccaneers.

Brentwood Buccaneers travelled to Witham on Sunday where they were pitched against local rivals Witham HC, Colchester HC and Saffron Walden HC.

BOYS Under 10s

Brentwood Boys U10s has a good tournament with two wins and a loss.

First up the hosts (Witham) who were well organised however good performances from William Mckay, Aiden Pass and Max Bakal across the midfield provided a solid foundation for Brentwood with the only goal coming from Jake Sanders. Brentwood had most of the pressure and several chances but if ever there was a comfortable 1-0 this was probably it.

Next up Saffron Walden, again a good team performance but this time more open and good saves from Scott Parsons in goal and solid defending from Charlie Busby and Charlie Sanders (always confusing to call ‘Charlie’ from the sidelines) kept Brentwood in the game. Another winning goal from Jake Sanders secured the points. 1 - 0.

Colchester proved a step too far coming straight on the back of the Saffron Walden game. A fairly open game however, the Colchester team has clearly come through the age group together and their positional discipline & physicality made this a tough game for Brentwood as they went down 2-0.

At this stage it is also worth a specific call out to our two youngest players Robbie Barke and Jacob Hewitt - really good play up front and at the back respectively in all three games and lots of positives for them to take as they continue their start in the U10s.

The team played really well throughout and enjoyed the day, a big thanks to the parents for getting the team to a Witham so early.

TEAM: Scotty P (GK), Charlie B, Max B, Jake S, Charlie S, Jacob H, Aidan P, William M, Robbie B

GIRLS Under 10s

The Under 10s girls continue to go from strength to strength. Once again they were unbeaten but this time they won all four of their matches.

4 - 0 vs Colchester A
2 - 0 vs Colchester B
4 - 0 vs Saffron Walden
4 - 0 vs Witham

We welcomed Imogen O on her debut to the team who performed well in defence whilst the others were rampant in attack.

TEAM: Ellie G (GK), Amelia L, Ava I, Eva S, Imogen O, Freya A, Olivia B, Emily K, Esme W and Freya W

BOYS Under 12s

Unavailability meant the U12 boys were propped up with 3 U10s this week. Thanks to Scotty P (GK), Aidan P and Max B.

The boys won 3 games and drew 1 which meant they too were unbeaten!

The highlight of the results was the final game vs Colchester who are a particularly strong team. Young Sam A stepped up to rifle a short corner strike into the bottom corner (with the help of the defender on the post) and the boys dug in deep to hold their lead and not concede.

1 - 0 vs Saffron Walden A
1 - 0 vs Saffron Walden B
1 - 0 vs Colchester

TEAM: Scotty P (GK), Sam A, Austin M, Lorcan C-S, Fraser Mc, Alex H, Aidan P and Max B.
