Brentwood enjoy their trip to the Thames coast.

We aren’t going to beat around the bush here; yes it was a 12-1 away wins for Brentwood, that sees them hold their number one spot in the league. Now I’m not going to describe all of the goals cause I will be here till the next game but the one important thing to notes is that Jacob Mac was unable to get on the score sheet and was even so sad his brother heard him crying last night. With what I hear to have been a successful social the night before it was guaranteed that a couple of the players would have been caught by the dreaded hangover and well that was the case for some, but this didn’t seem to affect the players and teams overall performance.

Brentwood started the game relatively poorly considering the league position of both teams and it was a frustrating start where the likes of Jacob Mac and of course Brady Doyle was unable to take their chances. It ended up being Derry who got the opening goal, which was more invertible than him telling everyone he meets about his new girlfriend. Brentwood continued after this to score with Jak getting on the score sheet for the second goal of the game, which was a easy finish for him after being hit by the ball moments ago. Two more goals from Stevie and the skipper George took us into the second half.

4-0 up and in control of the game but Brentwood new they could get more out of this game, and more they got as 8 goals followed. My personal favourite has to be when Paddy believed he had scored but then found out and actually hadn't and well I haven’t seen a man more disappointed in his life, two other goals were followed for Andy hat-trick, which were all with the reverse side of his stick. He wasn’t the only one to get a hat trick as the captain George was able to complete his first hat trick. More goals followed for Brentwood but southend were able to get one back to add the horrible 1 on the score line. They did it through a short corner mid way through the second half, which angered the team. It wasn’t the end of the world as more goals followed as Brentwood finished the game by scoring 12 and conceding 1 sealing the victory.

Brentwood play Basildon next at home with winning form on their side and hop to stay the only unbeaten team in the league. Overall was a good win and deserved. DOD was Jacob Mac for not scoring and MOM was George Lilley for his hat trick and overall good performance.
