Upminster 2s Vs Brentwood

On the day that Andy's beloved Maidstone progressed to the next round of the FA cup and the vehicles of Southend were described as ice cubes, Transit returned to Witham for a meatloaf tribute. Brentwood also played against Upminster 2s.

This week marked the return of the Mac after he was dropped by the 2s. The real question was how long had Guns been saving that joke for the group chat. Sadly we won't be able to answer that question since he is probably either still shopping in Upminster or eating out of date mince pies.

The pitch was somehow defying the laws of physics as an Upminster player told us that the sun will make no difference to the ice ?. No one seemed to drop any balls on the pitch this week so I'm not sure how we knew the pitch was possibly playable but the game went ahead anyway.

Upminster conceded some goals and for the second time this season they couldn't score any past Owen. Given that everyone else has, statistically that must make them the worst team in the league. There were a few good shots saved by their keeper, one of which was a beautiful ball played across the D from Jack, and like a bat out of hell Transit appeared and deflected it to the top of the net, only to be stopped by the keeper. I would like to add that Greenwich uni's top joint hockey goalscorer did get a goal later on taking his total goals to 2 this season (not including Uni hockey or preseason friendlies). Brentwood won a penalty flick when Upminster decided to play football on the line. Later in the game the defense were told off after a short corner for volume reasons by Derry who decided to channel his inner librarian. The game ended with a very disappointing three cheers from Upminster which I feel they could have put more effort into, even if they had just lost 5-0.

The chilli was much better this week so maybe Witham can ask Upminster for advice on ingredients. Reggie ate about 3 full garlic breads in total which I personally found a little greedy, made worse by the fact he ate all of the evidence. Everyone else ate fewer garlic breads than Reggie (happy now Aaron?). Chef won DotD due to thinking his chin was an effective way to control the ball.
