BRENTWOOD captain Simon Teale was delighted after his side moved top of the Division Two South table with a 3-1 win over Chelmsford seconds.
The Eagles maintained their unbeaten start with the win, which came thanks to two James Duggan goals and an own goal.
And Teale said: "I'm very pleased. It was a massive game, a top-of-the-league clash and a local derby as well, so I'm very pleased with the result.
"I think the guys were mentally prepared, we spoke about it a lot, we looked at the formation and every player had a job that they had to go out there and do, the mindset was good, we had a good inspirational team talk at the beginning that got everybody ramped up and ready to go.
"It was a fantastic result, I'm really pleased."
Vice-captain Duggan has made a formidable frontline with brothers Paul and Alex Haynes, but Teale was delighted with the efforts of the whole team – even if personally he spent two spells in the sin-bin after green cards.
"James is always scoring," he added. "We've got a formidable strikeforce with him and the Haynes brothers and he did very well at the weekend.
"I couldn't have asked any more of him really, but it was a great all-round team performance, every player did their job and it went exactly as I wanted it to go, except for me getting sent off twice!
"That's just the commitment to the cause, I guess wanting it too much. We've scored a considerable amount of goals so to put three past the top spot was quite a moment for us so I was really pleased with that."
