Eagles remain unbeaten

Luton Town 3 - 5 Brentwood
On a dull rainy Saturday afternoon, Brentwood arrived at Luton on the back of a confidence boosting win but were soon shown to be relaxing too much as a result. Luton Town made a bright start and were awarded an early flick much to Brentwood's dismay. 1-0 became 3-0 before half time with the Eagles struggling to get into the swing of their usual play. Half time came and gave Brentwood an opportunity to re group and start again. A subdued team talk got the players thinking about their game and all appeared to work together.
Soon after the break, Brentwood won a couple of short corners and put the second away with a nicely worked routine finished off by Paul Haynes at the back post. Come back was on...
The second came from a superb bit of skill from the left wing by Alex Haynes to leave two defenders for dead before squaring the ball across to James Duggan for an open goal. 3-2.
The equaliser came soon afterwards when a long corner was passed into an open Alex Henderson, who the drove into the D to finish with a flick of the ball into the bottom corner.
On a high, Brentwood were then reduced to 10 men as captain Simon Teale was sent off for serious foul play. This seemed to spur on the team even more as less players saw more space and the forward line exposed it in deadly fashion. Consistent free hits in and around the D eventually saw the ball driven in by Henderson to a waiting Alex Haynes who deflected it past the keeper. Soon after, a final break down the pitch saw some neat interchanging of passing for Steve Naven to finish again into an empty net.
A strong comeback and great spirit from the team increase the unbeaten start to the season and keep the Eagles top of the league for another week.
