Ladies 1s Start Season with a win.

Brentwood began the first game of their new season positively, beating Colchester first XI 3-2 in a strongly contested game.

Brentwood had first push back and Colchester were quick to involve themselves in the game, with a strong attack which was well defended by Emily Wright, Ruth Tilsley, Sandy Pass, Haylee Adams and Keeper Lorna Parsons. With their nerves settled, Brentwood pushed on with attacking play from Emily Wright and Nat Gilder resulting in the first short corner of the game.. This was calmly slotted into the goal with a great strike from Lauren Slater.

Brentwood continued to attack well, passing between Nikki Brimson, Lauren Slater and Lou Humphries led to another short corner. The well rehearsed corner was passed across goal by Charlotte Holt and deflected into the top of the goal perfectly by Nikki Brimson.

Colchester tried to stop the Brentwood attack getting through, however another great show of teamwork saw Ruth Tilsley push up from defence, pass the ball across to Haylee Adams who stuck the ball into the D. After a few attempts to overcome the Colchester defence, Charlotte Holt made it 3-0.

Just before half time Keeper Parsons pulled off a terrific diving save to keep the opposition out but this was soon followed by a great run by the Colchester forward line which resulted in the scoreline of 3 -1 at half time.

At the restart Colchester came out strong and put considerable pressure on the Brentwood defence. Solid marking from Haylee Adams and Sandy Pass ensured they were kept at bay however a short corner was awarded to them. This brought the score to 3-2.

The last 15 minutes saw Brentwood attacking again, however they were unable to find another goal. The game ended with a stirling effort from the girls on pitch to defend the win.
