1s draw at Bromley.

East Division One South

Bromley and Beckenham Ladies 2s - 1
Brentwood Ladies 1s - 1

Brentwood Ladies 1st team were away to Bromely & Beckenham for the 6th game of the season. The ladies were determined to go home with some points having won their last 3 games. Tension was high and Bromley & Beckenham fielded a young skillful side with plenty of subs. Brentwood had a full squad and were ready to go.
Both teams started strongly, trying to get control and take possession early. Brentwood got caught with their eye off the ball and 10 minutes into the first half found themselves in a scramble in their own D trying to clear a shot on goal. Goal keeper Lorna Parsons had to make several saves that unfortunately ended with a deflected shot into the foot of a Brentwood defender giving away a penalty stroke. Bromely & Beckenham capitalised on that opportunity and went 1-0 up leaving Brentwood on the back foot.
However, Brentwood stepped up to the challenge and started to settle down and find their feet. Passes started getting connected and the ladies started to boss the game.
Haylee Adams connected well with man of the match Kendall Colman to attack down the right hand side finding Charlotte Holt and Nikki Brimson to try and penetrate the Bromley & Beckenham defence.
Well worked passing across the mid field from Natalie Gilder and Lauren Slater kept the pressure on until the half time whistle.
The second half was more of the same with pressure being imposed from both sides. Bromley & Beckenham had a few big hitters that tried to find their forward line, but these were expertley cut off by the defence of Sandy Pass, Emily Wright, Ruth Tilsley and Haylee Adams. Brentwood persisted by winning a stream of short corners but failed to convert any of the chances, being kept out by the Bromely & Beckenham keeper.
Brentwood finally got their single goal reward and their point to secure the draw with just 15 minutes left of the second half when Lizzy Tyler fought for a scrappy deflected ball in the Bromley & Beckenham D, the keeper was on the floor and the defence was frantically trying to get it out of the danger zone, but Lizzy had such determination she kept going till it hit the back board.
Bromely & Beckenham tried to come back winning 2 more short corners that were well defended and tidied up quickly by the Brentwood defence and awesome keeping skills of Lorna Parsons. Brentwood piled on the pressure for the final 10 minutes and camped out in the oppositions half but could not find the goal to steal the full three points.
Brentwood maintained their 2nd place position in the league and look to take on Upminster at home in next weeks fixtures.
