A great day had by all in Britain's first city and former capital of Roman Britain.
The first North Essex Hockey Minis League tournament took place last Sunday at Colchester Hockey Club.
Brentwood played games against Colchester HC, Maldon HC and Witham HC.
The Brentwood Under 10s Minis entered two teams who both performed extremely well against experienced opposition.
“Team 3” was the “Boys” team. Ben (GK), Scotty P, William Mc, Sebastian P, Nathan C, Adam B
“Team 4” was the “Girls” team (albeit they weren’t all girls). Erin Mc, Charlie Mc, Oliver O, Imogen O, Emilie M, Emily K, Lucy L
Congratulations to those who were playing their first tournament.
The Brentwood Under 12 Girls found themselves short of a couple of players. Team: Freya W, Esme W, Ruby C, Eva S and thanks to William Mc who stayed on after his U10s games and Aidan P who arrived early to his own U12s matches to help out. Also, thanks to Scotty P (GK) who played in goal for the girls. The girls won every game! William and Aidan held the defensive line solidly whilst Freya and Esme W ran up and down the wings tirelessly. Ruby C and Eva S dominated the midfield to both create and score goals a plenty.
Finally the Under 12 boys took to the pitch. Team: Scotty P (GK), Charlie B, Max B, Thomas W, Aidan P, James W, Jake S and thanks to Eva S who stayed on to allow the boys the luxury of a substitute. It was needed as the opposition teams were pretty good. Some big boys with some good skills. Not to be outdone by the girls, the boys also won every game!
Brentwood Minis are looking forward to the next tournament at Becket Keys School on Sunday 7th November when they will welcome Colchester, Bishops Stortford, Hertford and Saffron Walden hockey clubs.
