The U10 girls were invited to take part in a friendly tournament at Chelmsford HC last Sunday 26th Feb 2023.

They played four games against Chelmsford Chargers, Chelmsford Chiefs. Bishops Stortford HC and Maldon HC.

The very young team were supported by a couple of boys.

A slow start saw Brentwood go a goal down in their first game against Chelmo but as they found their feet they managed to push forward and grabbed an equaliser. 1 - 1 the result.

The team then went straight into another game against the other Chelmsford team. This was a tough game with both sides battling it out in the midfield with very few chances being created up front for either team. It ended 0 - 0.

After a short break (and some sweeties). The team met Bishops Stortford. Brentwood were under a lot of pressure but managed to snatch a goal on the break. This surprised the Stortford girls who clearly stepped their own game up and pulled a goal back almost immediately. Another draw 1 - 1.

The final game was up against Maldon. Maldon like Brentwood were fielding a mixture of ages. It was Maldon who took the lead but Brentwood came back and the game ended 4 - 1 to Brentwood.

The results were good but the most important thing was that the team enjoyed playing friendly competitive hockey. Meeting hockey players from other clubs and playing hockey in the right spirit.
