The Super 5s travelled away to Waltham Forest 5s last Saturday.
The game started at a quick pace and Brentwood pushed with endeavour but couldn't link up their passes with sufficient accuracy.
Forest 5s looked dangerous on the break. Their skilful centre forward constantly finding space and managing to hit some good shots at Peter T in goal but Peter was in inspired form and pulled off some good clearances.
The first half finished goal less. However the second half was different.
A few positional changes made by captain Andrew P (Jelly) made all the difference.
Louis H found himself in space on the right hand side but he still had work to do. A jinking run into the D was finished with a powerful shot which was deflected into the roof of the net. 1 - 0 to Brentwood.
Ten minutes later, midfield dynamo Simon P (Pinky) picked the ball up on the halfway line and charged forward at full pace towards the WF goal. A Forest midfielder managed to catch him up as he entered the D but could only swing his stick at Pinky causing him to trip and fall (rather heavily). A yellow card and penalty corner awarded immediately. Pinky brushed himself down and stepped forward to strike the penalty corner. A good push out from Harry S was stopped and struck sweetly. The ball hit the middle of the back board before the keeper could move. 2 - 0 to Brentwood.
The rest of the game was end to end stuff but neither side could break down the opposition defences.
Result: 2 - 0 to Brentwood
